“Containing Big Tech” Now Available!

My book Containing Big Tech: How to Protect Our Civil Rights, Economy, and Democracy has been officially released today! Yea! I spent a year researching and writing it, leveraging my 25+ years’ experience in tech and the policy work I have been doing over the last 3 years (including my work on the California Privacy Rights Act as well as proposing and co-drafting the California Delete Act aka SB 362).

The book discusses the privacy challenges we face with the large tech companies’ surveillance-based advertising business model, how AI can be used in a biased and exploitative manner, kids’ online safety, the impact of Big Tech’s monopoly positions, and other topical stuff. Plus, I provide actionable solutions for individuals and policymakers. The book is written for the layperson who is interested in learning more about the impact of tech on our kids, ourselves, society, competition, and democracy. The content is available in hardcover, eBook, and audiobook (and don’t worry, it’s not my voice).

It has already gotten great reviews and already won a book award, and people like Rep. Ro Khanna and Alexander Vindman have said nice things about it.  It is also the #1 New Release in various categories on Amazon, so that’s cool.

You can order it online at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Target, etc. or you can stroll into your local brick and mortar book store and hopefully get it there or have them order it for you. Or learn more by checking out my website. I even have a “trailer” for the book.

No pressure to buy, but if you do buy a copy, I would be greatly honored.
